The Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) program is an exciting part of the year for CCAS. Each summer and winter we meet the roughly thirty percent of all entering students who are exploring the question: “Which major is right for me?”

Students begin to explore this question, and many others, with their advisors and peer advisors at SOAR. During SOAR you will:

  • Meet one-on-one with a professional advisor
  • Review placement test scores
  • Discuss any transfer, AP, or other credits you have
  • Learn how to search for, choose, and enroll in classes
  • Discover how your classes and credits meet degree requirements
  • Learn how to make changes to your schedule
  • Get answers to all of your questions about academics and life on campus
  • Receive an assigned advisor (often the person you worked with at SOAR)
